Seiko Prospex 1965 Heritage DIVER'S SLA066
1965 Heritage Diver’s Save the Ocean U.S. Limited Edition. Designed for those who treat life as the ultimate adventure, this exceptional Prospex timepiece reimagines Seiko’s first diver’s watch from 1965, the original Japanese-made diver that became standard equipment for the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition. Updated with modern materials and a sleeker, thinner profile, this Limited Edition is produced in a controlled run of just 300 pieces, each with an individually engraved serial number on the case back. Paying tribute to underwater archaeology, the light champagne sunray dial features a refined pattern inspired by ancient astrolabes, once used to determine latitude and time by the stars and sun. Hand-assembled at Seiko’s Shizukuishi Watch Studio, the high-performance Caliber 8L35 automatic movement beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour and delivers a power reserve of approximately 50 hours with manual winding capability. Crafted in stainless steel with gold finish and engineered for professional scuba diving to depths of 200 meters, this superbly functional diver includes a brown uni-directional rotating elapsed timing bezel, LumiBrite hands and markers for enhanced legibility, a dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, and a durable brown silicone strap. As part of Seiko’s “Save the Ocean” campaign, a portion of the proceeds supports marine conservation efforts worldwide.
